Our dedicated team of experts can guide you through the options for a loft conversion in Peckham. We will bring you through the whole process of a loft conversion from surveying the space and designing your new loft conversion to building the space of your dreams. Creative Spaces are perfectly placed to help you plan, design and build your loft conversion.
Rear Single Dormer
A single dormer loft conversion is one of the most economical ways to add space to your home. It is quite a simple and straightforward process and hence one of the most popular types of loft conversions. A rear single dormer conversion usually results in the addition of a large master bedroom with ensuite / shower room to the property.
Rear L-Shaped Dormer
An L-shaped dormer loft conversion is a very popular type of conversion for Victorian properties due their existing L-shaped layout. Detached, semi-detached, terraced, conversion and purpose-built flats all lend themselves to this conversion type. The additional loft space “L-shape” extends over the rear outcrop of the ground floor.
Rear Mansard
A rear mansard loft conversion is particularly suited to Edwardian and Victorian terraced houses as well as first floor flats. The party walls are built up in brick, typically London Stock Brick allowing the conversion to be the full width of the property.
Rear L-Shaped Mansard
A rear L-shaped Mansard is very similar to a rear mansard but simply extends out over the rear of the property to form another room. An L-shaped Mansard is particularly suited to a period property and a mid-terrace property.
Hip to Gable Rear Dormer
For a hip to gable loft conversion the roof hip is removed, a new gable wall is raised from the existing walls of the house and the remaining pitched roofline is extended to meet it. The gable wall is usually built up in brick or render to match the existing gable wall.
Velux Loft Conversion
A Velux loft conversion is the simplest of all loft conversion types and is also considered the cheapest way to convert your loft space. It doesn’t require any roof extension but simply a reinforcement and internal reconfiguration of the existing loft and addition of Velux windows to one or both sides of the roof.
London Roof Loft Conversion
A London roof, also known as a butterfly roof, is one that can be converted from front to back so results in one of the largest roof extensions. This conversion type results in the addition of a whole new floor leading to the same floor space as the one below.

Case Studies
L-shaped Dormer Loft Conversion in Peckham
We converted the loft of this Victorian terraced house situated in the heart of Bellenden a few minutes walk from Peckham high street. We converted the unused attic space by adding a rear L-shaped dormer to the property. The house originally had three large bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor, two in the main house and one bedroom in the outrigger to the rear. Our clients wanted room to expand and loved the area they lived. With the loft conversion we added two bedrooms and a shower room and a second floor of the house. With the rear dormer we added a large bedroom with velux windows to the front and plenty of eaves storage. We added a large shower room ensuite to this room and over the rear outrigger we added another bedroom which doubled as a study. We added French doors and a juliette balcony to the front bedroom bringing in lots of light. Further to gaining lots of space, our clients have added significant value to their property. If you want to achieve more space without having to move, speak with us today and book your free survey.
Rear Dormer Loft Conversion in Peckham
We completed this full rear Dormer loft conversion on a beautiful Victorian terraced house in Peckham on a lovely quite street just off Queens Road, Peckham. This SE15 property had retained a significant amount of its original Victorian features including beautiful cornicing and ceiling roses on the ground floor. We converted the unused attic space with a full dormer loft conversion from one gable wall to the other. This maximised space for our clients and allowed us to add a large luxurious ensuite bathroom. We built in lots of storage for our clients with plenty of eaves storage to the front. Given that we put in four dormer windows to the rear we didn’t need to add any velux windows to the front for light. Furthermore, with the addition of the loft conversion in this property, as with all the other loft conversions we do, we were able to improve the energy rating of this home with new additional insulation and replacing old single glazed windows on the first floor with double glazed. If you are considering a loft conversion and want to understand the impact on the energy efficiency of your home, speak with us today and we will provide you with advice and guidance.
