Morden has Wimbledon to the North, Mitchem to the east and Sutton and Carshalton to the South. It is only in the last 3 to 5 years that Morden is being discovered as a desirable place to live near to London. In particular, the John Innes conservation area in Merton Park, North of Morden station and south of Kingston Road is a particularly popular area. Other areas that are popular are the 1930s houses on Garth Close and Arundel Avenue in the Hillcross area, west of the town centre. The houses in Morden benefit from off-street parking, something that is a rarity in nearby but more expensive Wimbledon. One of the big advantages of Morden, particularly for families, is the proximity to good schools and amenities. With a lot of good and outstanding schools in the area including Merton Park and Hillcross schools. SM4 is Morden's primary postcode but it does stray into the more desirable SW19 and SW20 postcodes. The eastern edge of Morden has the CR4 postcode.

Types of Loft Conversions in Morden
Morden is home to lovely tree lined streets with detached and semi-detached 1930s houses along with Victorian Terraced houses. We have carried out dormer loft conversions, hip to gable dormer loft conversions and L-shaped Mansard loft conversions to properties in Morden. Our design team will design your dream loft space and bring the design phase of your project through the permitted development or planning processes. The project manager will take over scheduling and allocating resources and alongside our highly skilled and knowledgeable build team, we will create your loft conversion.
Rear Single Dormer
A single dormer loft conversion is one of the most economical ways to add space to your home. It is quite a simple and straightforward process and hence one of the most popular types of loft conversions. A rear single dormer conversion usually results in the addition of a large master bedroom with ensuite / shower room to the property.
Rear L-Shaped Dormer
An L-shaped dormer loft conversion is a very popular type of conversion for Victorian properties due their existing L-shaped layout. Detached, semi-detached, terraced, conversion and purpose-built flats all lend themselves to this conversion type. The additional loft space “L-shape” extends over the rear outcrop of the ground floor.
Rear Mansard
A rear mansard loft conversion is particularly suited to Edwardian and Victorian terraced houses as well as first floor flats. The party walls are built up in brick, typically London Stock Brick allowing the conversion to be the full width of the property.
Rear L-Shaped Mansard
A rear L-shaped Mansard is very similar to a rear mansard but simply extends out over the rear of the property to form another room. An L-shaped Mansard is particularly suited to a period property and a mid-terrace property.
Hip to Gable Rear Dormer
For a hip to gable loft conversion the roof hip is removed, a new gable wall is raised from the existing walls of the house and the remaining pitched roofline is extended to meet it. The gable wall is usually built up in brick or render to match the existing gable wall.
Velux Loft Conversion
A Velux loft conversion is the simplest of all loft conversion types and is also considered the cheapest way to convert your loft space. It doesn’t require any roof extension but simply a reinforcement and internal reconfiguration of the existing loft and addition of Velux windows to one or both sides of the roof.
London Roof Loft Conversion
A London roof, also known as a butterfly roof, is one that can be converted from front to back so results in one of the largest roof extensions. This conversion type results in the addition of a whole new floor leading to the same floor space as the one below.

Case Study
Dormer Loft Conversion in Morden
We added a simple dormer loft to the rear of this beautiful Victorian terraced house in Morden. Creative Spaces converted the loft of this three-bedroom house in Morden, which had a large unused attic space. We enlarged the living space of this house by adding a dormer loft conversion. We converted the attic into one large master suite and a large ensuite shower room. A quirk of the layout of this loft allowed us to add a nook with a Velux window above, giving our clients the added bonus of a dressing room in the bedroom. On the front slope we added two large Velux windows, under which, there was plenty of space for cupboards for eaves storage. To the rear, we built the dormer giving lots of head hight to the bedroom and new shower room. We installed three large windows on the rear flat side of the dormer. With our design and build expertise we converted this property from a three bedroom and one bathroom house into a large and spacious four-bedroom two-bathroom home. The added floor space has also increased the value of this terraced house in Morden.
